Canwood Gallery

Nestled in the Herefordshire countryside, Canwood Gallery  is a contemporary ary gallery and sculpture park.

We had planned to visit Tintern Abbey because there was a special event on. And also visit the nearby Wye Valley Sculpture Garden. Unfortunately, the weather forecast was anything but promising so we decided on the Canwood Gallery instead, about 20 minutes away by car. Another reason for visiting Canwood was because an artist Mary knows, Frances Warren, was exhibiting.

Fortunately, the rain held off while we explored the sculpture park ...

This oak bench was hand-crafted but priced at £1450. Mary had to sit down when she heard the price.

Not sure the use of breeze blocks did these fine sculptures any favours ...

The exhibition by Sally Baldwin was exquisite ...

And, finally, my favourite piece, Indi's Wave ...

The location of this piece wasn't ideal; it lacked the distant focal point that the structure naturally draws one's eyes to.

All-in-all, a pleasant couple of hours before the rain started to fall.
