It was pecking Mum's (or Dad's) beak to let its parent know it was hungry. Not surprised the rate they grow. I can only see one chick at the moment ...

Considering how close I am to the nest (my head is about two feet away from the nest), the parent on the nest remains calm & still while always keeping a beady eye on me. This is the exact opposite of their normal behaviour when even the slightest noise disturbs them.
